Pastor John A. Holm
Pastor Holm is described as a dynamic and passionate Senior Pastor since 1989, including 10 years as a Leadership Consultant in the church, with government, and corporate arenas. He engages in supportive and collaborative approach to mission and ministry, and to the work of mission development and visioning that engages teams. He is a peer coach, mentoring other Senior Pastors through the Church Coach Project of the ELCA, as well as equipping first-call pastors through their first three years of ministry.
Sandy has been Advent’s organist since 1962, an astonishing number of years! She also directs the handbell choir. Sandy is supported by husband John, who helps tune the organ periodically. Sandy said that when she started as the organist, she would continue as long as it was enjoyable. She says that she still loves it, and can’t wait until each Sunday arrives.
Youth and Family Ministry Director
Prior to becoming the Youth and Family Ministry Director, Lisa was the Children’s Ministry Director for many years at Advent. She joined the staff at Advent after 18 years in youth ministry and 2 as a stay at home mom. She enjoys working with children, youth, and families, to build a faith foundation through learning, worship, and outreach. Her career in ministry has taught her many new things and helps her own faith to grow. Lisa and her husband Matt have two children, Nathan and Rachel.
Maxine and husband Don have lived in Cedarburg since they were married in 1970 and have been members of Advent since 1975. They have two children – Cheryl and Daniel. Maxine and Don are currently both retired and busy with family, grandchildren, great grandchildren, hobbies and reading. Maxine is a member of the Syzygy Group and has worked on various projects around the church.
Senior Choir Director
Jackie is a retired elementary music educator who holds a bachelor’s degree in organ and voice from UW-Stevens Point, and a master’s degree in education from St. Mary’s University Minnesota. “Working with Advent’s musicians is a blessing and a privilege!”
Advent’s Senior Choir rehearses on Wednesday nights at 7:00 pm and sings at 3 services each month.
Krista has been Custodian for Advent for 10+ years. She loves all animals and has a pet sitting business along with her home cleaning business.
