The youth ministry program offers a variety of opportunities for youth in middle school and high school (6th-12th grades). Confirmation is only one component of what we offer which also includes discussion, social, and outreach/community service. All youth are welcome whether they are sure of their faith or questioning, life long church attenders or new to the experience, of any race, gender, or sexual identity.

During Safer-at-Home 2020 through...

For 2020-21, Youth will meet mostly online with some in person events when it can be done safely.  For more information contact Lisa Wegner, Youth and Family Ministry, at

Confirmation preparation is done jointly with 4 other ELCA churches in the middle school years. Classes meet Wednesdays from 5-6 PM (on Zoom or in person outside, weather permitting) and are led by pastors and youth ministers from the participating churches. Youth choose when they want to celebrate Confirmation after completing the program. Confirmation for grades 6-8 meets via Zoom on Wednesdays from 5:00-6:00 PM.  To register click here: Confirmation sign up .

High school youth meet on Wednesdays from 7-8 PM (on Zoom this year) for a casual discussion time on various topics.

In keeping with the strong sense of service and outreach that defines Advent, youth are given the opportunity to engage in group service activities on a monthly basis. Often these activities connect with ongoing outreach efforts at Advent. Youth are also encouraged to pursue individual ways to serve the Advent and/or larger community.

Youth assist in the monthly Family Service and during the Wednesday evening services offered in Advent and Lent.
